Crazy Hair Day

The kids had spirit week and one was crazy hair day and they really wanted to dye their hair so I got some colored hairspray at Party City.  Here is the result

Fall colors and a few pictures of family

We decided to go back to the battlefields because the colors were so amazing there.  Here are a few pictures from our trip to see the colors of fall in VA.

Fall Colors

I have lived in the midwest and Texas my whole life and I have been many places, but not really in the fall.  I get the kids on the bus each morning and then put my headphones on and go on a walk.  I had started to see the colors changing and then just one day it was a beautiful painting.  I wanted to walk every morning just to see the new colors that had come out.  My favorite trees are the maple that turn yellow to an amazing orange.  I honestly thought the leaves they sell at Hobby Lobby were just colors someone made up.  I now realize that this happens in Virginia every year.  It is amazing and beautiful and it makes me smile and amazed as I get to see the glory of God everyday and everyday it is a little different.  Some trees are just turning and some have lost all their leaves.  It is fun to discover new trees and streets that are my favorite.  

The colors are even more vibrant than the pictures, but these are just in my neighborhood on my walk.

Brian turns 39

We never do to much for our birthdays, but we did make Brian a cheesecake and it was really good.  He worked, but the next day I had an all day lab and he got to take care of the kids.  He did have his favorite dinner and cheesecake and a family to celebrate.  I wonder what 40 might bring.

Pumpkin Patch

We have a great pumpkin patch that is just down the street from us.  We decided to go on opening day and get there right when it opened and we had a great time exploring a new pumpkin patch.  It was great because so few people were there and we bought tickets before hand and so had the place to ourselves for a little while.  It had great slides, a fun corn maze, a silly hayride, ect.  We might even go back after Halloween and they have a special weekend when they smash all the pumpkins and you get to help.  We had a great time!
