Ivory soap in the microwave-cheap and fun

Since we don't have many friends in VA to call and play with. The days are getting a little long and so I have been trying to find fun science experiments to do during the day. We did Ivory soap in the microwave. The kids loved it and saved the last soap to show their cousin, Romie, that is coming this weekend. You would think the soap looks wet as it blows up and comes out of the microwave, but it feels like paper towels. You can break it up into dust and we made little soaps out of it. Christian thought the mountain of soap looked like Hoth on Star Wars so we took a picture of Luke in it. So fun!!  This was just 2 bars of ivory soap and we just added a little water to make it mold able and pushed it in cookie cutter and we colored it with food coloring.  To make the snowman we just dipped q-tips in food coloring and made everything on him.  We also just broke it up and made it snow outside and you could make it snow in a bath too.  CAUTION-vacuum or just wipe up before you wipe with something wet because it will get messy.
